Thought Bearer

Postcards carry an enchanting sense of nostalgia, transporting us to a time when communication was slower and more deliberate. In our fast-paced world of instant messaging, the simple act of putting pen to paper and expressing one’s feelings on a card takes on a unique significance. This tactile experience fosters a deep connection between both the writer and the recipient, making each message feel more genuine and heartfelt. In my artistic endeavour, I transform postcards and my own body into a creative medium. I roam the streets, engaging with strangers and inviting them to share their thoughts and emotions on these postcards. I ask them to write or draw something that embodies their affection for a person or a cherished memory. The process unfolds into a fascinating tapestry of human connection. I have been privileged to witness countless joyful and poignant moments as people pour out their hearts. Some share intimate confessions to loved ones they have lost touch with or those who have passed away, while others offer hopeful get-well-soon messages. There are moments of quiet reflection, laughter, poetry, and bursts of creativity as strangers transform blank postcards into vibrant expressions of love and longing, each drawing or note a testament to their experiences and emotions.
